How do I know my attorney will have the skill and experience to take my case to trial if we are not able to settle my case to my satisfaction?
We are trial lawyers. We have been trying cases for many years, in Oregon, in other states, and in other countries. Quite candidly, we are good at what we do.
Part of our expertise comes from talking with jurors. We have always been able to learn from other lawyers, and we have frequently had input from judges who sit on our cases, and in recent years we have had the input from our true audience, the jury. More and more, judges are inviting jurors to talk with the lawyers after a trial and give the lawyers feedback on what impressed the jury and what the jury didn’t like. From this we have been able to learn the art of appealing to the jury, not just appealing to ourselves and our clients.
We also recognize that no two clients are alike and no two cases are alike. We prepare for trial and present cases around our clients. By knowing our clients well – their personalities, what they do, how they feel, what their comfort levels are, and what their weaknesses are – we can present a trial tailored to them, rather than a stock presentation from a textbook. We do this, and we do this well.
